Nicki Minaj is teaming up with Reggae star Shaggy for a charitable cause, where both superstars will help raise money for a local New Jersey chapter of the Urban league.
The Trinidad-American rapper and the Jamaican Reggae singer will take the stage October 28th for the Urban Vibe 2010 Benefit Concert sponsored by the Urban League of Hudson County.
The aim of the popular event is to raise funds for the organization’s mission of empowering residents and improving the quality of life in New Jersey’s urban communities.
In addition to Nicki Minaj and Shaggy, r&b singer Ciara will perform at the concert schedule to take place at Newark’s Prudential Center.
The event will be Hosted by 107.5FM WBLS’s Caribbean Fever personality Dahved Levy, and Terrence and Rocsi of BET’s popular 106 & Park, Urban Vibe 2010 also includes Soca stars Farmer Nappy and Patrice Roberts.
Speaking on the cause President and CEO of the Urban League of Hudson County, Elnora Watson, released a statement saying,“Our mission is to empower, promote self-sufficiency, and advance the cause of opportunity for our diverse constituency. Through collaboration, outreach, information and technology, the ULOHC has developed services that help level the economic playing field.”
