Summer Walker finally revealed a release date for her first album.
Rising R&B star Summer Walker hit the scene in 2018 with her first project Last Days of Summer that many regarded as an album. But the Atlanta native said her debut album has yet to come and will be dropping this October. Summer took to Instagram Thursday to announce “Over It” will be out October 4.
The 23-year-old started the year off with her first EP titled CLEAR. Summer said earlier in the day that this new album will be produced by London On Da Track. Fans had been checking for a release date for a while.
“Since London producing the whole album yall ask him when the album drop cuz he holding me up,” she said on Instagram. The singer earned her first charting song on the Billboard Hot 100 this year with the “Girls Need Love” remix featuring Drake which peaked at No. 37. She also just appeared on Rick Ross’s Port of Miami 2. Summer is currently on tour with rapper Melli that ends in late December so that the album will drop right in the middle of it.
Fans have been critical of past projects as she made a habit of dropping songs less than three minutes long and sometimes not even as long as two. It will be interesting to see how she responds with Over It, and if she will produce some more hits and give fans more music than they’ve been asking for.
