Beyonce Reignites Marcia Aitken Classic “I’m Still in Love with You Boy”

Beyonce got that Midas touch even without sampling an old classic like Marcia Aitken’s classic “I’m Still in Love with You Boy.”

Queen Bey recently posted a promo video of her upcoming tour with JAY-Z “On The Run II” where she used the classic reggae single as the soundtrack. Her fans clobbered her comment section wanting to know the name of the song and who is the artist. “This song brings a tinkling of memory to me which lives on a magical memory of lost remembered love,” one fan comment.

Since Beyonce posted the video clip, the song has been streamed 5 million times on Spotify and hundreds of thousands of times more on YouTube. Marcia Aitken says she recorded the single when she was a teenager at Excelsior High School in Kingston. The track is a cover of Alton Ellis’ classic “I’m Still in Love with.”

“The song became a hit. I was at the radio stations doing interviews, I was on television performing on Where It’s At and I was in the newspapers,” she said. “Those were fun times and it changed a lot for me.”

Aiken says she was in Canada when she heard that Beyonce used the single on her Instagram page.
