Drake Year Is Not Over “One Dance” Just Reached 1 Billion Streams On Spotify

Drake year is still in full effect and there is no one to top the Canadian rapper’s reach in 2016.

Drizzy is celebrating another milestone this year with his chart topping single “One Dance” reaching  one billion streams on Spotify, which means if you add the streams on other platforms including Apple Music that number could double,” Billboard reported. The single, which features Wizkid and Kyla, has been one of the most popular songs this year. The track peaked at No. 1 on Billboard for several weeks and remained in the top ten for a few months.

This is just one of Drake’s monumental achievements in 2016 after changing the rap landscape with his album VIEWS which topped the 200 chart for thirteen weeks and spent six months in the top five on the album chart. The project also became the first album to reach one billion streams on Apple Music. The RIAA also certified VIEWS quadruple platinum. That’s not all, the album also reached three billion streams on Spotify.

The success of VIEWS helped earned Drake four American Music Awards after being nominated for a record thirteen. He is also going into the Grammy awards with eight nominations. The Young Money rapper is already on the verge of dropping his next project “More Life” due early next year after being delayed.
