Lil Durk is expected to walk free from jail sometime today after being granted bond.
The Chicago rapper has been behind bars in Atlanta for the past two weeks after turning himself in to police earlier this month for a shooting incident in the vicinity of the famous The Varsity restaurant. Lil Durk and his attorneys appeared in court today, June 20, for a bail hearing where a judge set his bond at $250,000. WSB TV reported that the rapper would be required to wear an ankle monitor while he is out on bail.
The alleged shooting took place on February 5 of this year at approximately 5:49 a.m. At least one witness spoke to police officers and identified Lil Durk, real name Durk Derrick Banks, among the shooters. One man, Alexander Weatherspoon, was shot several times and rushed to a local hospital where he received treatment and survived. Weatherspoon was also robbed of his chain, car, and $30,000 cash.

Last police, police detectives revealed that they have video evidence showing the Chicago native discharging a weapon towards the victim. That is substantial evidence that could be used to convict Durk of attempted murder, a crime punishable up to life in prison. Law enforcement officials also labeled Durk, a member of a vicious Chicago gang.
Lil Durk is facing charges including criminal attempt to commit murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
