Dancehall Deejays Still Without Visa… Link To Dudus

Jamaican dancehall deejays Sizzla, Movado, Beenie Man, Bounty Killer and Aidonia are still without their United States visa. The US embassy in March this year suddenly revoked the five dancehall deejays visa along with selector Ricky Trooper, preventing them from traveling to the US. Reasons for revoking the artists visas is not forthcoming from the Embassy.

Recent rumors are circulating that the entertainers in question may is link to Dudus empire and find themselves suddenly not wanted in the United States. A story published in New York base Village Voice news magazine titled “The Great Dancehall Freeze-out Of 2010” made the claim, but provide know proof to substantiate same.

Although the US Embassy in Kingston Jamaica gave no reasons why the artists visas were revoked, Jamaicans home and in the US are drawing their own conclusions. Some linking the issue to the anti gay lyrics dancehall deejays portray, while others are saying its as a result of the recent tension between the two country over the extradition of alleged Shower Posse leader Christopher “Dudus” Coke.

At the end of the day everyone is in the dark as to the reasons for the United States action, while our Caribbean artists are loosing revenues from cancelled US tours.
