The Shaggy and Friends 2018 benefit concert boast a star-studded lineup of local and international stars.

The concert will be held tonight (January 6) on the lawns of Jamaica House in St. Andrew starting at 8 pm. Tickets range from US$30 to over US$200 and don’t worry, every cent will go towards the Bustamante Hospital for Children ICU unit. There will be no live stream for the event this year unlike previous years, so you can stay tuned to Urbanislandz.com for coverage of the charity event.

The lineup for this year’s show features some big names both locally and internationally including Sting, Fetty Wap, Wyclef Jean, Doug E. Fresh, Aidonia, Barrington Levy, Wayne Wonder, Third World and Shaggy himself. There may also be some special guest artists on the show just like previous years.

The best part about the concert is that it’s proceeds will go towards the leading Children’s hospital in the Caribbean, the Bustamante Hospital for Children. Shaggy has been support the hospital for years through the concert which has already raised over US$1.5 million in funding for the institution. “We are as committed to this project as we were when we first staged Shaggy & Friends in 2009,” Shaggy said. “If anything, the fire is burning even brighter. This project has taken over a part of my life and I wouldn’t have it any other way. It is a great experience to be able to partner with our patrons, sponsors, other organisations and dedicated individuals to save the lives of children – our future.”
