The 14th annual St. Kitts Music Festival promises to be an electrifying unforgetable event. The 2010 line up saw some big names including Babyface and hip hop star Fabulous. The first night June 24th left party goers yearning for more.

Headliners, Reggae icons, Third World, opened the show, in a surprise move to lure patrons to the venue early. The original members – performing together for some 37 years – offered up a smooth, crowd-pleasing performance for the thousand or so fans who made sure they were in place on time to enjoy classics like ‘1865’ (96 Degrees in the Shade), ‘Reggae Ambassadors’ and ‘Satta Massagana.’  And Guitarist Cat Core delighted the audience with a soul-stirring cello solo.

The Prophet Capleton burned up the stage as he closed out the first night of the St. Kitts Music Festival.  At well after 2:00 a.m. thousands remained at the Warner Park Football Stadium to bounce and chant along.

Just before Capleton took to the stage the dynamic, wildly energetic husband and wife duo Bunji Garlin and Fay Ann Lyons rocked the house and the stage, stirring the crowd into a frenzy: performing together, then Bunji backed up by Fay Ann, then Fay Ann taking over, warning the crowd if they didn’t want to get ‘bump up,’ ‘rub up,’ ‘wine up’ or ‘jam up’, she was giving them three seconds to move to the back.  Nobody moved anywhere. They were ready.  And the Lyons roared as the crowd bounced higher and higher.

Friday night will see hip hop star Fabulous and Reggae super star Taurus Riley gracing the stage. The event comes to a climax on Saturday June 26th with Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds and Sizzla Kolanji among some of the big names to grace the stage.
